I'm tempted to agree with you, but historically Intel has been able to demand a premium. I think their marketing allows them to do that. The brand name sticks, and customers would rather spend $100 more for the Intel machine. I don't know how far things have changed, but I've noticed that people on this thread are much more likely to pretend that things have changed altogether, and ignore any advantage that the Intel brand name has. I think such an assumption would be a mistake.
