Would be a nice way to play a mutual fund. Of course I do not know how to invest in a Japanese mutual fund. Any ideas?
A nice little article posted at 1981 I believe.

a triple play on POG, junior/mid tiers AND the yen.

Anyone who follows baseball knows that a triple play is rare...but they do happen.

If there is a rush to gold on the part of Japanese, as Jipangu is pushing for, is there any risk that the Japanese gov't will outlaw private ownership of gold? I know...it's a reach, but have to look at all angles...

An earlier post had the link to the Jipangu home page, but you will have to brush up on you Japanese first <g>

I think the yen play/currency protection is overrated. This protection IMO comes from the fact that the underlying assets are gold related and not from the fact that Jipangu is a yen denominated vehicle. For North American investors I would think that something like Dundee (DPMa.TO) is just as good as a Jipangu. But for Japanese investors who have very few alternatives for investing in leveraged gold stocks, this could be great. Maybe the financial reforms initiated by the new Japanese primeminister could be the trigger for a Japanese flight to gold, as their long hidden skeletons start coming out of the closet.
