If the government wants to micromanage the financial and economic aspects of our daily life, then they should accept the responsibility of their actions and at least guarantee a practical level of unemployment insurance, i.e. at least 70% of the former pay level for at least 18 months. This is the case in many European countries.

Sorry to here about that... I know some backplane facilities are getting some work, but Teradyne I heard just went through a semi voluntary layoff. I heard they were offering 6 mnths serverance and additional 2 weeks for every year seniority...

We just took 3 orders last week for four machines, one was a 2 machine deal to existing customer...

Was just at corp for a sales meeting and I got my cap raised by 33% and they wacked my commish back a bit to make me chase the cap... I think I will probably not make the cap this year, hence making less, but last year was my best by 2x. If I do what I did this past year I'll still be happy.

PM with what your bother did, maybe I know some people if he is willing to move... Currently the PCB industry is still lacking talented individuals, most of the layoffs have been what I call "dead wood." People lacking in experience that were highered to fill a void without the proper experience...
