By the simple measure of bear sentiment on this board, we are headed back up.

I believe that AG is finally realizing the correlation between monetary policy and the stock market. Previously, the monetary policy knobs were turned, and the market reacted. Now, there is more of a symbiotic relationship between the markets (representing equity sentiment, business confidence, and the wealth effect) and policy. Sometimes in the 'New Economy', the market turns the monetary knobs. The Fed sometimes has to play operator, making sure the monetary knobs match the market outputs, or imbalances occur. Simply put, that means the Fed is no longer in complete control; sometimes, they need to not fight the trend.

The real question is: when will the Fed capitulate?
