You're posting the wrong person. I'm not buying any of those stocks. Although they'll probably be a lot higher in the future. And congrats if you shorted in August. Just know when to say when and you'll be fine. Might even be one of the few to need tax loss sales this year. gg

Do you know why I didn't short? Do you remember in
May and June when earnings were coming out and
all the stocks went UP after bad earnings and
warnings? Most stocks gapped down a little, then
ended the day up 5% after warning! Some stocks
opened up in the first place and went higher when
there earnings were HORRIBLE and warnings even MORE
horrible, then they said "it was already built into
the stock". That kind of environment with stocks
going up after bad earnings and warnings is what kept
me from shorting. Back then they were PRICING IN
a 2nd half recovery and so I guess that's why they
made all those loser stocks go up after bad news.
I wonder if now, all of a sudden, that particular
psychology will come back again, and they will
say that there will be a first half 2002 recovery?
That's what scares me. Wish I had gone short. Oh well.
