>why is qualifying from Europe so hard compared to other regions? There are a lot of good teams are in Europe, you combine that with the luck of the draw and you often get groups with two to three good teams and two of them don't make it (well one could still make it in the playoof system)...It is harsh to see a team like the Dutch not making it, the Dutch consistently had very good teams in all World Cups and is one that deserved to win at least one World Cup over the years (remember 1978? how about all the semifinal losses in penalty kicks)
