I applaud you for presenting an unbiased objective read of Rydex sentiment data contrary to your current position. However, I still have questions about the efficacy of the Rydex sentiment data vs. other sentiment indicators. I disagree that sentiment analysis is less effective as a tool right now for positive growth returns, as I've used other sentiment indicators to incredible success the last couple months (up well over 50% on a sizable, well-allocated portfolio the last two months). I posted the below request for information a couple weeks back with no response. If anyone has any input I'd appreciate it. Thanks and aloha... Message 16211026 You're right that most of the investing public doesn't know about the Rydex type of fund. What confuses me is why then are the Rydex allocations supposed to be such a great contrary indicator to predict what the market will do? Has it been shown to be better than things like AAII surveys, broker recommended allocations, mutual fund cash levels, COT, put/call ratios, and VIX/VXN/QQV? Is it possible that many of the Rydex investors are actually more intelligent than the general public, and not a great contrary indicator? Does anyone have any historical charting or study that shows a good contrary correlation? Please fill me in. Thanks... Aloha
