Ah, how I remember those days!

Does your son like Legos? My son was a late reader, I worried for a while, but he just turned out to be more mechanically minded and reading wasn't of much interest to him 'till he was about 10 and starting to want to read 'real" books.

But he was an absolute whiz at Legos. I would sit with him to help him, he would look at the diagram, and while I was still trying to interpret the first few steps he would have the thing half done. I was blown away the first time he did this, but after he did it time and again I realized it was no fluke -- he just had a great spacial sense and memory.

Different talents.
