I don't know about you, but I have 0 ESP (I took the test and now I know, I didn't know beforehand for obvious reasons). So I need to be introduced. I cannot recognize people as kindred until I have seen their thoughts for a while. Because some people seem like kindred initially- and then you hit some rocky area, an area vital to your ideas of who you are, and what people should be, and your relationship founders immediately. I've had that happen. I can still be friends with people like that, just not close friends (bosom friends- also from Anne of Green Gables).
