Fiddling with tethered/untethered cables convinced me to just leave everything alone, including no more RamBooster. I don't know exactly what set things right :)

Very interesting discussion of "tracking". On IE being able to nail down a geographical location & Netscape not - note that you can go out & help yourself to a very old version of netscape & run it with only its inherent problems. I did this, in order to see how my pages were coming up on ancient browsers. That's when I found out I couldn't go back to IE5 from 5.5. Now you can go back from 6 to 5.5, but no further (with my copy of IE 5.5). This seems a bit scary.
