"Chip analysts dubious of trade's view"

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- George Scalise, the semiconductor industry's lobbyist, paints such a rosy picture for a chip sector recovery that even financial analysts, a typically bullish lot, are skeptical about his predictions.

Scalise, president of the Semiconductor Industry Association, is expected to unleash July industrywide sales results on Tuesday -- figures that may spur individual investors to buy chip stocks. Ahead of the report, he told CBS.MarketWatch.com that the numbers suggest the quarter will be the last period of sliding chip sales in a months-long decline.
