Name one "fact" you have invented. That's rich. Your intention is to open my eyes, mind, and heart? You do not have a single friggin' clue. You don't get it. Here's your assignment: Grab a notebook, a stopwatch, and a pencil. 1. Turn on the TV, the more channels the better. Start at Channel 1 or wherever it starts. 2. Make a note of the exact time, and the channel's title, like ABC or Lifetime or Cartoon Network or whatever it is. 3. Watch for verbal or visual references to criminal acts. These would include such things as a criminal act on the screen, a verbal reference by someone on the television to a criminal act, a joke about a criminal act, someone talking about somebody else who committed a criminal act, a song about a crime, a cartoon showing a crime, an interview with a victim of a crime...anything that has a direct link to a crime either real or imagined. At the point where you see such a reference, note the length of time you were on that channel prior to the criminal act reference. This includes music channels, cartoon channels, news channels, sports channels, pay-for-movie channels, "adult" channels, everything. You can even skip misdemeanors and look only for felonies if you want. 4. Go to the next channel and take the same notes. You are allowed to skip the "Buy This Because You are Fat, Lazy, Ignorant or Depressed" channels. 5. At the same time, make a note of every ad you see for a prescription drug. 6. Report back here the low five and the high five - the five channels that had the shortest time-to-crime, and the longest time-to-crime, and the number of prescription ads per hour. And PLEASE don't bother me with anything else, I'm busy and I don't have time to grade your Creative Writing.
