Dear Bill: I dont know if IBM is running scared but I do know, and you should too based on their "shark" comments awhile back that everything IBM says is not necessarily the truth. JDN

IBM may not be running scared, but I've seen plenty of evidence that IBM is running in circles. The only UNIX vendor who hasn't run the circle around NT and back again is Sun. Power to them for saying in the mid-term teleconference "fuck the short term, we're in this for the long haul".

What a gift they've given us long term investors: shaken out all the speculative players and weak hands, and created an investing opportunity which I don't expect to see again in my lifetime.

Now go buy some IBM stock and put your money where your mouth is.

P.

It's humorous the extent the faithful are focusing on the "last war." The unix wars are over. intel and msft is the real competition.
