Leigh,

The children are ready for week two of school. If I go to bed real soon, I will also be ready when morning comes. Trying to reprogram myself a little bit, to be better tuned into the morning hours with the children. (it's gonna take a miracle!!)

As for Kevin, he is doing great. I was a bit anxious to see how he would handle the other children going off to school, and him staying home. The decision to keep him home was strictly a parental descision, as Kevin seemed to really want to go to school. I had noticed some maturity issues with him that concerned me. One of the big factors for me was that it was all day kindergarten, not half day. My concerns have been greatly put to rest already. We have not had one incident of him nagging or begging to go to school. He seems totally content to staying home one more year.

Last week, we had gone school shopping for supplies. Kevin found a "hot wheels" lunch box. He brought it over to me, told me that he really liked it, and ask if I would buy it for him. Not wanting to upset the delicate balance I was trying to maintain with him over the issue of school, since he was not getting any other supplies. I decided to buy him the lunch box. I thought we could use it for he and I to go on a little picnic. (Which already is not quite how it worked out) Kevin was all excited about the lunch box. When we came home from Pittsburgh, Kevin proudly showed his dad the new lunch box. His dad told him how nice it was, and further commented, that he might like one like that, to take his lunch to work. Kevin told his dad, that he could have the lunch box to use for work. (this was his new, pride and joy lunch box.....and he was that easy going to give it to his dad!!) Mike told Kevin how nice it was of him to give up the lunch box. Mike then suggested that he and Kevin could share the lunch box, and take turns using it. Kevin agree with that idea. Then on Thursday morning after all the older children had left for school and Mike had left for work, Kevin noticed the lunch box was still at home. He was sad that his dad had not used it to take his lunch to work. Kevin suggested, since daddy forgot his lunch, that we pack a lunch for "daddy" and for Kevin, and take it to daddy's work. (He did not mention packing anything for me. I guess that was because, I was not "sharing" the lunch box with them!!!) With Kevin's help, I packed the two of them identical lunches. Kevin put both their lunch's in the Hot Wheel's lunch box. It was 8:25 a.m. and Kevin was ready to go He thought we "needed" to take the lunch right then. Kevin was on an important mission, the lunch could not wait!!! We took the lunch and hung-out with daddy most of the morning and early afternoon. It was so cute to see Kevin asking his dad if he was ready to eat his lunch yet!!!
