One does need to remember that Intel establishing a gorilla market in IA-64 is still a bit uncertain. Lots of people have climbed on the bandwagon for this chip during its development, but that developed has been a lot longer than it was supposed to be and the preliminary results a lot less staggering (must be learning from Microsoft).

Thomas Mercer-Hursh, are you saying that you feel Intel won't be successful with their 64-bit processors? Even though Intel's first 64-bit processor was late it still did quite well in performance tests against Sun.

The industry is really waiting for McKinnley.

Why is it a bit uncertain. Are you just saying this to offer a different view like you do with BEAS or are you just telling investors not to get too optimistic with IA-64 projections?
