For the math challenged, divide the exercise price of $706 million by 23 million shares. <<

That's right, Rob. I take solace in the press digging up dated, but allegedly "bad" news. It is yet a further sign that we are entering the final stages of this grinding tech bear market. Not looking for a "V" bottom, mind you. Just looking for a solid bottom and a slow, largely uneventful rise with numerous but less volatile corrections along the way. IMO, ORCL and certain other techs (EMC, QCOM and some others) should challenge their old highs within 3-5 years, which is an excellent return from here. I keep referring my friends to the 5 year charts of the oil-service companies (e.g. ESV, DO, GLM, etc.) They mostly recovered, but mostly haven't yet hit new highs from the '97-'98 oil service bear market. Most will in time. I expect most of the major techs with long-term staying power to trace similar charts over the intermediate term (3-5 years). Best of luck to you.
