10:03 ET Economic Data : The NAPM index rose to 47.9% in Aug from 43.6% in Jul -- this is much better than the 44.0% market consensus and should be a positive for the market as it hints that the manufacturing sector is moving closer to recovery. Construction spending fell 0.1% in Jul, near market expectations for an unchanged reading; this report will be overshadowed by the NAPM.

Terayon Comm (TERN) 6.40 +2.23: -- Before Open -- W.R. Hambrecht upgrades to BUY from NEUTRAL rating with price target of $7 based on Friday's news that Cablelabs, the industry standards organization for the cable industry, announced a new DOCSIS 2.0 standard for cable modem transmission that includes Terayon's S-CDMA technology; firm believes this development is a validation of company's core technology and a major positive for Terayon's current cable modem systems and nascent cable modem semiconductor business... Also, Lehman Brothers upgrades to BUY from MARKET PERFORM with price target of $10; UBS Warburg upgrades to STRONG BUY from BUY with price target of $13; both in reaction to CableLabs decision.
