Having seen the phenomena up close in SoCal, I can vouch for the fact that a tour in prison appears to bestow the sort of honor that you'd think a college degree ought to grant. A badge of respect. Ain't multiculturalism grand.

Make the cage smaller, make the time longer. There is always the option of making them into organ donors.

My theory on why females like "tough guys" is that females naturally go for alpha males. Our chimp DNA isn't buried under too many layers of charm school. The same theory applies to those tough guys - gotta be alpha male.

We didn't get to civilization by going backwards and letting chimps run the cage. As jfred says, going into the 'corrections' institutions is a badge of honour; here too.
