"only pointing out that tech was the last shoe to drop" No you pointed out that the A/D line was screaming "its a tech stock bubble" for two years -- something you can't even see now. Autos, the housing market, unemployment have been sustained at record high levels to this very day. Some manufacturers were hurt by the high dollar -- which in turn was kept high as foreigners got sucked into "investing" money in dollars to buy into the bubble in tech stocks.

and will be the last to recover. so how about diversifying into some basic material companies while you're waiting?
