Agreed the good experienced savvy investor will read such a propectus and take note.
But the average investor is a gullible naive person who are extremely exploitable by dark forces.
The methods used by the major houses were not different from various tactics practiced by the criminally unsavory boiler room con-joints.They,the boiler room leaders, are prosecuted and put out of busineess, but with the major brokerages they just look away.
What the major brokerages did during the mania is NO better than and also be comparably evil to what Tokyo Joe did,and those individuals responsible should have to pay the same price.
Those getting killed in these WS Pump and Dumps are not,in anyway just that tired and grossly inaccurate cliche,J6P.
Those who got killed covers the whole swath of groupings, except the companies management and the underwriters, who made hugely obscene profits at the expense of the naivete of the average investors.
Conman means CONFIDENCE MAN,as they work religiously at getting your confidence.
It is premeditated cynical process in order to
rob people.
A lot more people i am sure got hurt more severely than one may now think, and as result of this extreme hustling that the Street did to satisfy their own greed, will, and is, one of the primary components of why this market is desperately sick and our future is on a razor's edge right now.
An economic society is ONLY as good as it's ethics and all those who escaped the fleecing of America by the "respected" Big Houses and there "scum" equivalent,Boiler Rooms;and those who think those "gullible fools"(oft these gullible are far from fools outside the stock market) that got burned, tough luck for them, but not my problem, will however be finding they really didn't escape, fully; as this episode in corruption run-amok has left a devastation behind it.
My maternal side Grandfather, from whom i take my name(his name was Maxfield),was a great man, loving, hilarious(he was for his children and grandchildren doing Victor Borge like routines BEFORE Victor Borge was even heard of---were they hilarious!!!:)
He,sadly, also was a trusting man, that could not conceive that people lie/cheat/steal for their own personal greed. My grandfather got taken and taken hard,i have seen what happens to GOOD people amongst sharks.
So i repeat, your tolerance of corruption and your dismissal of the complaints of those devasted by that corruption,is a contribution,by indifference,to the blight that is on our land and a blight, imo, that will have brutal repercussions years into the future.
Aj,good people as yourself, need look after those who are good or NOT bad people, but that simply are gullible and Trusting.
George Soros, for whom i respect, has a way of making money off of corruption:)One of his prime modis operandi is to identify corruption and go short where he finds it.
But George Soros also wrote a book that states capitalism based on greed and corruption will,in the long run, destroy itself, and i am glad to see Bill Gates for all his ruthless competiveness,is not out of line with Soros views ,and is giving back and intends to keep giving back, imagine he has given more to fight AIDS in Africa than the U.S. government, these are matters Soros holds to be vital.(BTW,though i DO side with the DOJ regards MSFT,i nonetheless respect Bill Gates)
Jack Welch, was on 60 minutes,a delightful man, really, and was told "People say you spend too much attention to the the Bottomline"(imagine that!!! gawd forbid,he actually cares about the bottomline!--get rid of the man, that is subversive talk:)
Thus ends the sermon for the day---now i will go listen to Ministry and "jesus built my hot-rod" and other goodies by them.PaxMax
