Not to Mention if AMD does go with Athlon XP and Windows XP it leads consumers to think they are designed for each other.

Dan3: Starting next month, there are no longer two versions of Windows for desktops, only single processor XP and dual processor supporting XP-Pro.

That's not correct. There are several other features "missing" from the consumer version of XP.

The following features are missing in the consumer version of XP, ripped from Ars Technica's XP review (part 1):
· SMP Support (up to 2 procs)
· Dynamic Disk Support
· Remote Desktop
· Full participation in NT Domain / Active Directory
· Offline Files & Folders
· Encrypting File System
· Multi-Language Interface
(source: ars-technica.com )

The NT Domain would seem to be the more serious of the components missing, but all of them would certainly be nice to have.
