Looking ahead to 2004, I can see an ad showing John Edwards getting his snout run over by the rear tire of an ambulance. But, like the Willie Horton issue, that, too, would come originally from his Democrat primary opponents. I believe one Al Gore gets credit for the original on Horton, in an attempt to slow down the Dukakis momentum in 1988...
