Glad to see someone else using monthly charts for the golds.

One of the biggest problems with the TA work I see on the web is that 95% of posters limit their work to daily or shorter period charts only.

LT and IT trends give you the big picture TA that's indispensable to judging the REAL viability of shorter term opportunities that frequently show up in daily, hourly and shorter period studies.

An excellent recent example of the price uninformed traders pay for ignoring this kind of deductive thinking occurred during the major decline in the NG stocks that began in Sept 2000 for some of the key play and January of this year for the rest. All the way down, those oblivious to both the FA and TA big picture called dozens of false bottoms and were wipsawed month after month for staggering losses.

To flesh out major LT trends or changes in same, monthly AND weekly charts are essential 1st steps in the TA DD process of analyzing sectors and individual stocks.

Best regards,
