Why on earth would they do that? This combination makes them #1. On store shelves, no one touches them. Of course, Dell does a much better job than anyone in online, made-to-order sales, but not everyone shops that way.

The one to exit, as you noted in another post, is probably GTW, though they could still be bought.

PS: I don't recall the exact time frame for reaching it, but one of the last public goals for HWP set by Lew Platt before Carly took over was to be #1 in PCs by either 2001 or 2003 (it was either a 3 or 5 year goal at the time, I think).
