Stephen... I think the crux of the article was that merchants will NOT be familiar with the texture and look of the new Euro. Thus, for a short span of time, they will be vulnerable to accepting counterfeits. It makes sense to me.... I don't believe it will be a long-term issue as folks become used to it. But it creates the potential for having the currency undermined and creating some political repercussions, and/or social disorder. Hawkmoon
