Local Director was just an example of how the server is becoming irrelevant, subject to minimum requirements. This was in response to your point about networks being dumb.

The main point I am trying to get over, and which is the main factor behind the stock performance, is that Sun's products are a commodity. And don't tell me it is an economy thing. Look at IBM, HP, CPQ, DELL and how far those stocks have dropped compared to Sun. That is because Sun was being held out as somehow different to those other box makers. Now the market has realised that yes they are different - they are disadvantaged due to their obsession with MS hating.
