LUKoil reports rise in oil production MOSCOW - The board of directors of the Russian oil giant LUKoil summarized results of the company's work in the first half of 2001. The press service of LUKoil reported that LUKoil and its subsidiaries produced 38.7 million tons of oil in the first six months of 2001, which is 1.6 per cent more as compared to the corresponding period last year. The introduction of modern technologies allowed for receiving an additional 7.7 million tons of oil. The total share of oil produced by LUKoil among other Russian companies amounted to 22.4 per cent in the first half of this year. The volume of gas production went up 3.2 per cent and reached 2.6 billion cubic meters. fred
