I agree...This is pretty bad and reminds me of the 1972 bear market. This time around I don't think we will take 10 years to recover. Each bull/bear cycle is always a bit different. At this point it would be foolish to sell or not be in the market. Those that are selling here will feel really bad when this eventually turns.

I don't know, Eric. Worst case scenario, if Cisco can eek out $1B in real earnings (not proforma) this fiscal year, then I'd say they are worth about $7. However, if they can earning $2B, which is a very large stretch, then I'd say they are worth around $15. So if you take the average, I think they are worth around $11. However, I'm willing to give Cisco a 25% premium, because hell, they are Cisco. So that brings my estimate of what I'd be willing to pay to around $14. No matter how I slice it, I don't think we're overvalued here. I think at best we are fairly valued. At worst, we have a two month slide ahead of us. I hope you are right, but if not, I'll be picking some up soon on the cheap.

<<In my 30 plus years of investing I've never seen so much cash sitting on the sidelines! >>

ever hear the term, "smart money" ?? Most of it is nowhere near the "sidelines" - it's way far away, gone from the mkt for a long time. Deal with it.

Eric, did you ever see as much money lost in your 30 years of investing? Destroying over $5 TRILLION of wealth tends to make folks hesitant about jumping back in. Gives all the naysayers plenty of crap to spew to keep newbies scared. Needless to say, if you haven't been playing techs with puts, shorts, or covered calls, you haven't been making any money.knc
