I still think deflation is winning. If the NAPM trend continues and we do get reinflated somehow, a small bet on gold is more than worth the risk, however. The CRB and C&I lending remain my canaries in the coal mine on reflation.

Other asset plays make sense too, though. Forestry and health care REIT's, possibly commodities, and some bonds (fully government insured). Anything that can reliably pass along a steady earnings stream that won't get strangled by its own debt. Leverage=death. If we enter a K-wave winter, bonds will be the best place to be for some time to come (like, 10 years or more).
