What I found very interesting about GWB's Labor Day foray into the north country was that he chose to align himself with the carpenters union and the Teamsters for photo op purposes. The carpenters union not too long ago broke away from the AFL-CIO. Since 1980, the Teamsters have endorsed more Republicans than Democrats for president, even though the Teamsters did endorse Gore a year ago. GWB's handlers were very, very careful which unions they selected. Every one of these outings by GWB is cold, calculated ... an attempt to pick up votes by a political party that basically has run out raw materials.
