Morocco's king hits back at Spain

By the BBC's David Bamford in Rabat

The king of Morocco, Mohammed VI, has responded vigorously to criticism by Spain that his country is not doing enough to control the hundreds of migrants entering Europe illegally from Morocco.

The (sad) truth is, those Moroccan wretches who've made it to Spain on their own --that is, aboard their own tubs-- must count themselves lucky... For I've been told that Spanish coastguards' favorite pastime is to bump them on the high seas and capsize the whole boatload... That way, Spain doesn't have to deal with shameful statistics on drowned illegals washed up on its southern shores. But then, who else can better enforce the Mafia's monopoly on illegals transshipping?
