Why HP bought Compaq and how it will affect Jay.

I've seen it before. Carmakers were about to merge or simply disappear back in the end of 80s. Ignacio de Arriortua - a purchase czar of GM- appeared in scene. He would squeeze the living daylight of the suppliers. The difference in you getting a contract to supply a part was decide in the different in price on 4 digits after the coma!!!

By squeezing suppliers -and other measures such as making the same car and doing some 'cosmetic' to differentiate them- the auto industry survived.

The reason for HP and Compaq joining it is to squeeze the pee out of their suppliers of motherboards, peripherals and other computer-related stuff in Asia. Watch out, Jay!

I'm betting a beer with anyone who think otherwise.
