LM Ericsson Telefon AB said yesterday that it will use Texas Instruments Inc's chips in its 2.5G and 3G reference designs.

Ericsson said that it plans to incorporate TI technology like DSP-based digital baseband and the company's multimedia-orientated OMAP design. Ericsson plans to support GSM/GPRS, 3G EDGE, WCDMA, and other next generation wireless specifications with its Mobile Platforms reference designs. <<
