Dear Steve Lee: SUNW isnt the only one that sees problems for CPQ/HP in the SHORT TERM.
"With the uncertainty that will dog the merger in the near term, I would expect competitors to benefit and market share would go to Sun, IBM and Dell,'' Davina Yeo, International Data Corp Asia Pacific research manager told Reuters. "

Plus any of us that have been through these mergers know they never go that smoothly. No one that I have seen has predicted the long term as no one really knows.
So, I dont see where you get off questioning the veracity of the SUNW managers. Be careful, you might have BLINKERS on!! (gg) JDN

Steve: Did you by chance lose some big deals to other vendors who sell Sun systems in the past? Your dislike for SUNW exceeds my own dislike for MSFT by a couple of orders of magnitude, an impressive feat indeed.

My dislike for MSFT stems from many wasted life-hours fighting with their unreliable software and sophmorish designs, time that I will not get to spend in more worthwhile activities. What is your agenda here? You aren't long, you aren't short, you're just a basher?

In the immortal words of Blur: "Say something, Say something, Ouch!"
