Texas Instruments confirms Q3 outlook, revenue fall

WASHINGTON, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Texas Instruments Inc. <TXN.N> confirmed on Wednesday its third quarter outlook, saying it expected revenues to fall 10-15 percent sequentially as many of its semiconductor customers reduce inventories because of weak demand for their own products.

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the world's No. 1 maker of computer chips for mobile phones also said earnings per share will decline to a loss of a "few cents" before special charges and amortization of acquisition-related intangibles.

In addition, non-operating income is expected to decline to about $20 million because of reduced interest income.

The shares of the Dallas, Texas-based company closed on Tuesday at $32.10 on the New York Stock Exchange. In pre-open trading on Wednesday the stock was up to $32.90.
