Well dave, if you want to play games or watch movies and that is you definition of superior well that's nice. but working computers do a few more things. adding to fault intolerant is wormed and virused for msft. I've not played movies but I've seen several played smoothly on linux laptops. As to plug and play, well there are far more video and network card drivers available for linux than any msft OS. SO as I said there is no compelling reason to upgrade software for functionality. I also believe that up to a few year old hardware could run it ok anyway. Especially since 256 meg dimms are quantity at 23 bucks. You will be amazed at what 1/2 to a gig of memory means to performance of even pig msft oses. But decision to go XP will mostly go with new systems and there is no or very limited reasons to buy new systems. Ease of use is important and the msft price is limitation of uses. No don't attempt to do this with 1996 computer technology with any msft OS watman.com Do you see two screen with 20 virtual desk arranged with an ergonomic layout to allow for tracking dozens of simotaneous application. Which include loging into computer B starting a web browser on computer C and streaming multimedia with sound on one of the desks of computer A. All three computers running major different versions of Linux. And yes my 1994 laptop running redhat 2.1 has 2 desks and works fine displaying graphical application from any of my other version 5 6 7 and 8.0 just installed on watman.com .
