mg, >The ATMs run some form of Intel architecture, though the specific motherboard and processor in use varies depending on the age of the machine. They run NT4.0 and IE5.?.

If you go back far enough, you'll also find ATMs running on Compaq (Tandem) Non Stop Kernel machines, which will also be on Intel CPUs someday (2004?). They'll also be called HP, looks like.

I sort of said that as a joke, but my remembrance is that the atms run some sort of bastard system that has nothing to do with ms. That program was written at a time that everyone wanted to recreate a new language and my guess is that it is all central processed on 360's.

But thank you very much, we would all be very curious to know the reality!!!!

Thanks again,

Duke

It is, like Duke said, and like everything else these days pretty much a joke. But regardless of what the ATMs themselves run, glitches in individual ATMs shouldn't take down the network. Unless something is really, really badly designed.
