Intel's .13u and 300mm will ramp fast. Bigger caches will fill up open space and the deep instruction pipe will be appreciated when more software is designed to take advantage of it… and AMD will have to respond. I think economics will be on Intel's side with 80%+ of WW units and even more $'s.

Regarding economics, if Intel disappeared tomorrow, AMD would not be able to satisfy even 30% of WW unit demand even with the current slow down. The reality is that, as long as Intel is alive and investing it appears that a premium is available to Intel whether Jerry likes it or not.

You called me "nuts" for saying software companies would not invest today in designing SW to take advantage of PIV instructions and architecture, then you turn around an say AMD is adding the new instructions... why would they invest in those instructions... is Jerry "nuts", or is he smart enough to realize that that is what the world will use.
