HERE IS THE NEWS

HEGCO Canada, Inc and it's wholly owned subsidiary, Red Leaf Energy, Inc. is pleased to report construction has begun on the West Bittern Lake Pipeline Project located in Central Alberta, Canada. The pipeline is approximately 14 kilometers long and will immediately add 3 wells to the Company's producing inventory. Combined initial test rates for the 3 wells exceeded 9.4 mmcf per day. Actual production flow rates will be adjusted to maximize the economic life of the wells. The pipeline is expected to be completed over the next 30 days.

Mr. Babb, CEO, states ``This pipeline project is significant due to the fact it is being built into a proven gas productive area of approximately 40 square miles, void of other pipelines. This project effectively gives the Company a big backyard to drill and further build gas reserves.''
