I can't believe that HP swallowed Compaq.

Eric

The Street is saying 2 losers will not equate to a winner.

On another note I got in late today at 14.86 and fully expect profitability tomorrow.

It's time again for a mercy mini-rally. :)

Hi Eric, Carly is just grabbing headlines. Compaq was being routed by Dell, so they had to sell out. HP's stock has been under pressure for over a year now, so Carly had to apply shock therapy. An acquisition of this size will paralyze both companies for at least a year as they look for those fleeting synergies they are both touting now. In the mean time, Dell, Sun and IBM are the big winners. The smart cookies, bought those three companies on the acquisition news. I feel for Carly, though. She's a shining example of how our nation has come so far so fast in making sure everyone has a shot, whether you are man, woman, Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, white, green, yellow, or black. Now Carly has joined the ranks of the best and brightest, so these times are going to try her more than any other. I for one, hope she pulls it off. If she does, then she'll have saved two great companies and made a name for herself as a great turnaround artist. The downside is that now instead of one company to turn around, she has two companies to merge and turn around. Tough business. I don't own any and don't plan to anytime soon.
