OT,
Hi!!
RE: :Re: Mike Kwatinetz's statement "just imagine where DELL will be in five years-"well it been almost four and the answer is -----drum roll--right where it is right now as on May 28th 1998-22.38 per share- Dell was selling for tonights closing price.Best--Acccording to Barrons last Sunday -Alan A says that if you score the credits away from the options "out the entire tech sector" iit went nowhere in four years-I am not an accountant but wonder if he is right-DELL seems to be priced that way!. Best

You're discussing the stock price...Let's not forget that if we are discussing price that umpteen thousands of folks "believed" that DELL would conquer the PC industry for let's say five years...The stock price became the stock of the decade and perhaps the stock of the century...Many haven't figured out that long term DELL won't be stopped...Many more I believe haven't discovered that the DELL model can sell virtually anything they decide to...The most recent example are the switches...I'm sure some analyst somewhere will come out shortly and tell us how entrenched someone else already is at selling them...Bill, you obviously agree with me on these concepts...I know that the $2 Trillion plus sitting currently on the edge of a table will fall when this economic situation begins to clear...I don't see any large cap company that IMO can triple as fast as DELL can once this funk is eradicating...Michael has told us two years ago virtually the same thing he did 10 days ago...Pre and post economic slump... "100 BILLION AND 40% MARKET SHARE"...Obviously, he still feels the same way...As a matter of fact his buying all those shares the other day tells me that he liked the HWP/CPQ let's join hands together in the quicksand...Nothing has been done to stop him and if anything the picture should be clearer...Price is not what it's all about in here...

Best, Kemble

Hey OT, Did you know that Kwatinetz is a member of Merrill's TechBrains Advisory Board?

I think this link will tell you where DELL went over the last 5 years.

Interesting to note: Shares outstanding have decreased? Both basic and diluted.
