04:57 PM DJ Talisman/Outlook -2: Sees Output At 1.2 BOE/Shr In 2001

TORONTO (Dow Jones)--Edward Bogle, vice-president of exploration at Talisman Energy Inc. (TLM), said the company estimates 2001 cash flow will rise to C$2.8 billion, or C$20-C$22 a share, from C$2.4 billion or C$17.51 a share a year earlier.

Speaking at the Peters & Co. Canadian energy conference, Bogle said the company also estimates that its output will be about 1.2 barrels of oil equivalent a share in 2001, up from 1.09 boe/share in 2000.

Bogle said half of Talisman's output comes from Canadian gas production. He said that gas production is expected to rise to 900 million cubic feet a day in the fourth quarter, versus its current production of 850 mmcf/d.

He said Talisman's strategy has been to increaase volumes while keeping costs low. Bogle noted that Talisman is Canada's largest oil and gas producer and one of the few to develop major international projects.

During his presentation, Bogle outlined the company's developments in the North Sea, Indonesia, Algeria, Sudan and others. With respect to Sudan, Bogle said Thursday's appointment of a new U.S. special envoy to Sudan looks " extremely positive."
