Justa: testing..testing..??? the Spring lows ???

With the unemployment data out (& with the reduction in wholesale inventories), perhaps the Greenman should use his 'last' remaining rate-cut bullet now???

How about a half-point cut on Monday? Why wait till October? If the economy is on the verge of an 'official' recession, why not entice short-term borrowing with lower rates NOW?

Of course, better medicine might have been a sweetner in the recent tax cut package for business to increase capital spending (now), with a limited-window for business to exercise that option.

As Brinker had pointed out, Bush missed his window-of-oppportunity by not including something like that in the tax package. Now he has lost his leverage, including the majority lead in the Senate. The Dems would not be inclined to cooperate right now.
