The power of independent unions. That seems somewhat limited in a global economy.

Cost of doing business is a very complex matter. Buildings, machines, training workers, setting up a production line. Those are non recurring.

Cost of materials to make something.
Cost of labor to make something.
Taxes and tariffs
These are recurring.

Does Volkswagen AG find it cheaper with tax incentives and other risk factors to move to a non union US facility or some other country.

A Union may have reasonable demands or not. A strike costs both ways and can cost all. I don't know the details of this case and even if the union had reasonable demands it might cost all everything in time. It today's economy the time to press????

time will tell

Hi flapjack. You may have been asked before, so pardon me if that is the case. I know your position on unions, but don't know what you think of Anwar. Most dems are against it, but labor is for it.

Where are you on the Anwar issue? For or against?
