gao, All peoples have the ability to modify our responses to various impulses. This is the power a meme has over a genetic tendency to drink, fight, mate etc. Few people fight or mate in public, but we have made an art of social drinking. Do this for a while and your genes will drift in that direction to make you get drunk less, or less combative. Remember men are animals and like dogs can be bred for traits. The assorted styles of dog breeds all came into being in the last 500 years or so(some a little sooner) or about 200 generations of tthe breed cycle in a dog. Boxers, poms, chihuahua etc....all from the same basic stock. Sheep dogs naturally herd animals into groups. Now it takes longer for men to be bred this way since the generation os aabout 8 times as long as a dogs one. But men can indeed be bred for assorted trais by the envirronment. tall, short, black, white...all are amenable to natural selection or artificial selection. We could breed a race of men 3 feet tall for special uses in about 200 generations or 3000 years. In fact some envirronments have bred short races due to shortness being an advantage since they eat less food. Bill
