mm- Well if you go backto 97 the Dow and the NAZ aren't really cheap now. And if you overlay that with the business climate and the earnings and revenue outlook then the P/E, Dow and NAZ levels as tehy existedin 97 would be eay too high.

The only way for the market ti hold up therefore is if business improves. There isn't much sign of that. The market usually gets it right and it looks forward a few months so it is telling us something about the future and it is that business is getting worse.

All that has to happen to change this climate in a moments notice is for someone to get hold of the elderly Fed memebers and explain to them how bad business actually is and that they must now admit to being nearly certifiably insane for what they have done and continuw to do to the greatest period of prosperity the US has ever known. That'll do it.
