Hey, why not stray ot for a while. CSCO's new sticking line is $15. It ain't going to run away or hide. Imagine, only 15 points of downside.

I don't know enough about Japan to venture a credible opinion about cause or effect of the problems there.

I don't think slowing spending is what causes a crash however. In the 30's, for example, it was a rush to the exit. What spooked the crowd? Irrelevant. The crowd was skittish. But they were not saving. They were withdrawing. Transferring savings from one pocket to another. Big difference. The crash was due to panic withdrawals that overwhelmed the resources of the financial system.

Then savings started in earnest. No, I can agree that excessive savings slows recoveries. But I don't believe it causes crashes. That needs panic, and increased savings does not trigger panic. It is the other way around. IMHO, of course.
