<the whole past five years was a myth if you take out the credit the options afforded the financials?>

Don't read Barrons. Won't read Barrons.

I'm not real sure what " credit the options afforded the financials" means? Could you elaborate? Is it something to do with DELL selling the Puts?

OT: Timing is everything. If you started in early 97, the book value went up by 700 %. But as per final results of the company performance the price to p/e went up to 16 vs 12 in 97. This is a good measure for performance for shareholders. From this measure Dell is worth 25% less today than 97 price. So I would go try to accumulate Dell at this price. At $18 it can be really worthwhile accumulating, unless actual performance start improving (in terms of Stockholder value).
