Looks like I missed the Fairchild announcement of improving bookings - so we can add them to the list.

Your comment about investing with Kramer vs Cramer is on the mark. Cramer no more sold tech in March 2000 than Kramer bot Microsoft at the IPO. CNBS should quit Cramer as he is guilty of financial malpractice.

All this bullish optimism can't go unopposed!

I agree, there are indications of stabilization in the semi sector. The recent news provides relief for some. For the majority however, I suspect the news is not surprising.

The question is: What does this mean for stock prices?

I believe that probable near-term stabilization followed by positive growth is more than fully priced into most semi stocks. IMO, the recent slide has plenty to do with an increasing realization that next year's earnings estimates have not been reduced enough and current valuations remain too high. I think the focus has shifted from "When will we hit the bottom?" to "What can we expect in terms of future earnings growth?"

So, it's my guess that assuming the stabilization/growth scenario continues to play out, it's possible the sector could continue to trade flat to down until valuations come in line. In addition, a change in expectations at this point could easily ignite a significant sell-off.
