Bill, "Hey, Mr. Tally man, Come tally me bananas,
Day-de-light come and me wanta go home." Those words are just as pertinent today to the world's problems as they were in the 1950s when Harry Belafonte, who speaks a much cleaner, crisper English than any of us, segued into island accent to score a hit.

As Shirley Bassey told us, it is all "a bit of history repeating." So, we're not old. Just experienced. It is not that we can't use the stairs any more. We are just experienced enough to have faith in elevators. And viagra. So, I never felt less like singing the blues. <g>

Newlanburg County threw me because of a big mistake I made with the song, "Shady Grove." I couldn't figure out where they found a shady grove in Harlem until I realized they were talking about Harlen (sp)county which, I think, is in Kentucky. Messed up my picnic big time with that one. <g>
